Seeing a shape in my mind's eye, through half-closed lashes. Thinking and conceiving from shape to object. Working out and elaborating how to realise it. Developing installation and object. Bringing the shape to life exactly as I envisioned it.
Stone Shapes
Time for a new shape. Finding a good stone. Raw. Sometimes marble. Preferably alabaster or serpentine. Walking around it for weeks, sometimes months. Seeing what's inside. Knowing what I want to say with it. Finding the shape within the stone and carving it out.
